EFFECT OF miR-21, miR-182 AND let-7i ON TSP-1 EXPRESSION IN COLON CANCER CELL LINE
2010
Background: MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding RNAs that regulate the expression of different genes, including genes involved in cancer progression, angiogenesis and metastasis. Thrombospondin-1 (TSP-1) has been shown to contrast angiogenesis in vivo. TSP-1 expression levels are inversely correlated with tumor vascularity and metastasis in colon cancer. Bio-informatic statistical analysis indicated that TSP-1 is hypothetical target of miR-21, miR-182, overexpressed in CRC, and let-7i which expression is down-regulated in this tumor. In this work we investigated whether TSP-1 expression could be regulated by miR-21, mir-182 and let-7i in HT29 colon cancer cell line. Methods: To investig…
Vergleich der lokalen Effektivität und des Metastasierungsverhaltens nach Resektion, Kryotherapie und Lasertherapie an einem colorectalen Tumormodell…
2003
A rat colon cancer cell line (CC531) was implanted into the livers of 85 WAG rats and in animals surviving the implantation the liver tumour was subsequently treated with sham laparotomy (n = 15), resection (n = 20), cryotherapy (n = 19) or laser therapy (n = 20). Local recurrence or persistence of the tumour in animals surviving the procedure was observed in 15 of 15 following sham laparotomy, in 0 of 15 following resection, in 3 of 17 following cryotherapy and in 10 of 14 following laser therapy. However, peritoneal disease and lung metastases were more frequent and extensive following resection as compared to cryotherapy or laser therapy.
